Kristen posted a wonderful blog entry at the official website for Invisible Children – a charity organization to help end the use of children as soldiers in Africa. You can view Kristen’s entire post below and you can find out more about Invisible Children by clicking on the link here.

Hello wonderful people,

It’s Kristen Bell here. I know, I’ve never written on the blog before… but, here we are. We’ve probably never met in person, but you may have seen a film I’ve been in or a TV show I’ve been on, but blah blah blah, none of that matters… the fact is: if you’re reading this blog, you love Invisible Children, and I love Invisible Children, so, we’re basically family.

Collider recently interviewed Kristen for her promotion tour of You Again. Check it out:

In the new comedy You Again, Kristen Bell plays Marni, a young woman whose high school years were hell, especially thanks to one particular arch nemesis, Joanna (Odette Yustman). Now a successful publicist with the nightmare of her teenage years behind her, Marni returns home to Northern California for her brother’s wedding, only to find out he is marrying the one girl from high school she never wants to see again. Meanwhile, Joanna is acting like nothing bad ever happened, and everyone in Marni’s family seems to just adore her, prompting Marni to prove to her family that Joanna is not who she appears to be.

At the press junket for the film, actress Kristen Bell talked about her own moments of insecurity in high school, how the physical comedy comes easy for a natural klutz like her, and that she wants other young women to understand that there is a big world outside of high school where you can be anything and anyone you want to be. She also gave brief updates on Gossip Girl and Everybody Loves Whales. Check out what she had to say after the jump:

Question: What did you think of your high school look in the film?

Kristen: I actually wanted to push the envelope a lot further and was pulled back a couple times. I came out of the make-up trailer with 400 whiteheads on my face and they were like, “Kristen, come on!” I was like, “What? It’s realistic! I had whiteheads in high school,” and they were like, “No, let’s just go with regular, standard, run of the mill acne.”

Like David Mamet? Like adult films?

Well, for those of you who have been yearning for a mixture of the two, look no further than Funny Or Die to give you just that.

The video heavyweight has launched a new series of web videos, with the first one being penned and directed by the cinematic giant himself, David Mamet (Homicide, House of Games). It stars Kristin Bell and Ed O’Neill, who worked with Mamet on his film, Spartan, and is introduced by one of Mamet’s go to guys, Ricky Jay. It’s said to be a lost clip from a 1930’s porn and while it’s a little long and a little poorly paced for the average web video, it is a really fun little clip.

While this is just a little web video, anything that Mamet does is going to have me a little interested. I didn’t quite dig Redbelt like many did, but films like Homicide prove that he’s a really talented filmmaker. All in all, if you have a little over 6 minutes, definitely check this one out.

Kristen Bell doesn’t shy away from taking risks. The petite actress, 29, who is engaged to Dax Shepard, got her motorcycle license.

“It was intense. They assess your risk-taking skills, and they ask you a whole bunch of questions psychiatrically that would make them figure out whether or not you would blow a stop sign if no one else was around, which I passed with flying colors ‘cause I follow the rules even when no one’s looking. I took my test in the pouring rain of a Mercedes dealership parking lot, which I thought was the most ironic place to hold it, because if I hit something, I don’t just hit a tree – I hit someone’s Mercedes. I kept it on my Flip video, which I’ll have to cherish for the rest of my life. And I took it in the pouring rain, which was very hard.”

What’s it like riding a motorcycle?

“They’re hard to control. I thought I would be a lot better at it than I was, but there is something about the whole concept of the freedom of the road that’s very inspiring. But I think for now, having experienced it, I might stick with my beach cruiser. It’s a little more controllable.”

She finds motorcycling exhilarating.

“Life is full of fun things to do that mess with your adrenaline like roller coasters or riding a motorcycle. Sometimes those things are fun to mix it up. I don’t trust myself enough to ride out into the street on my own,” she says. “That’s a big machine. I’m not going to join the Hell’s Angels.”

Hm, what inspired her to get her motorcycle license?

“I don’t know,” she says. “I felt like it was always something I wanted to do.”

Kristen Bell loves her engagement ring. The ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ actress says partner Dax Shepard did a good job with the Neil Lane design, and she is very excited about her upcoming nuptials.

“He nailed it! I’m just really excited. I’m happy and trying to live in that moment. It’s kind of indescribable.”

The 29-year-old star is preparing for her big day by taking up Pilates – a stretching exercise used by celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Lee Curtis.

“I really, really enjoy it. Stretching is involved, so it doesn’t really feel like you’re working out!”

Kristen is rumoured to be starting a family with Dax, and is building a nursery in her Los Angeles home in preparation.

“She’s planning a bit. But it won’t be long. They talk about starting a family all the time.”

Kristen has previously vowed to put her family ahead of her work in Hollywood, saying:

“I think your significant other should be way more important than your work, personally. I love working. But I don’t know that I’d say I’m a workaholic because I also love maxin’ and relaxin’.”
