Sep 05, 2010 • Kristen Bell Begs Studio for Veronica Mars

We have all heard the rumors of a Veronica Mars movie, and it looks like Kristen is wanting it to happen as well. What do you guys think? Would you like a Veronica Mars movie, or not?

Kristen Bell is still fuming over the 2007 cancellation of Veronica Mars — which is why the actress is begging fans to help bring the character back to life on the big screen.

“Mars fans — can we bug @wbpictures & tell em the must do a VM film?? New tactic. Bombard em w/tweets, there’s evidence of fans they cant ignore,” the actress, 30, tweeted Thursday.

When the show debuted in 2004, Bell’s role as a high school student who moonlighted as a private detective made her a cult favorite; but after the show moved from The WB to The CW network, Veronica Mars was canceled by the end of its third season.

“I’m fine if they give it up,” Bell tweeted. “But as of now they won’t.”

After posting a series of requests asking fans to sign an online petition, Bell called upon the show’s producer Dan Etheridge and series creator Rob Thomas to join in on the action.

One hitch: “Unfortunately [The WB] owns the rights. They gotta make it, or set it free! We would be happy to make it privately!” Bell tweeted. “WB says their research shows the movie won’t have an audience; I disagree. Currently figuring out how to show them.”

The actress then took the opportunity to plug her new film You Again as she encouraged fans to rally behind her.

“Guys — go see You Again on Sept. 24th. The character isn’t as snarky as [Veronica Mars] but shes just as sassy. And she looks EXACTLY like Veronica Mars.”

After receiving more than 7,500 signatures in just a few short hours, Bell was quick to express her gratitude.

“Thank you so much for being so dedicated,” she tweeted. “You’re all marshmallows.”
